Happy Birthday Ben

Ben was born 19 minutes before the 4th of July, which means that most of his friends will unlikely be in town for his birthday. Since his best friend would be gone during his actual birthday, we decided to have a small party for him and her to celebrate the weekend before. They didn't have to fight traffic to arrive at the party since she lives just a few doors down from us. The day was hot and muggy so we went with an informal water theme which included: water beads, water balloons and water guns. The main course meal was watermelon and popcorn since those are his favorite foods.

I will admit that it was perhaps the quietest party I have ever attended with only 3 other guest. But Ben had a great time playing and eating with his best friend. Which, if you think about it, that's all that matters. There were no other kids running amok opening his gifts and it was quite relaxing as far as planning parties goes. It was fun.
