On March of 2008, Polaroid announced the end of those iconic instant pictures. Sadly, the end of this era has passed almost unnoticed as many are unaware that those white-frame instant pictures are a thing of the past. I personally don't have any vivid childhood memories with Polaroid cameras, as a matter of fact I was able to acquire my first and only camera last summer. Nevertheless, it has always fascinated me seeing the film pop out of the camera and have the image magically appear within minutes. Last summer I had the opportunity to take my Polaroid camera to a goodbye party for a co-worker from Traci's work. When we all decided to take group pictures, everyone brought out their small digital camera's to capture the moment. The routine was the same, 1,2,3 and snap, however I was amazed that after taking a Polaroid picture, the camera received an applause. Imagine that, the oldest camera there and it received the most attention.
But anyway, why am I saying this? Well, I'm not one to proclaim the soon arrival of my birthday, nevertheless, with only a few packages of Polaroid film left, I can't think of a greater gift than a package of Polaroid 600 film for my birthday.
The picture above is of a few a cars I saw during my honeymoon, the date on it is not my birthday.
BHphotovideo.com still has a few left.
